I'm A Celeb: Georgia Toffolo reveals why bosses removed the make-up ban for her

It was one of the best kept secrets in this series of I’m A Celeb, but newly crowned winner Georgia Toffolo has come clean.

Viewers were left scratching their heads when the Made In Chelsea star was visibly wearing make-up each day while in the jungle, despite there being a strict no make-up policy.

The Jungle Queen told The Sun that she was allowed to use foundation for medical reasons, thanks to a skin condition she’s been suffering from and having taken medication for over the past six months.

‘I honestly wouldn’t have been able to look any of my campmates in the eye if I didn’t have my make-up on,’ said the 23-year-old.

When producers told me it was banned I broke down in tears and said, “I can’t do this”.

I wish I could walk around with no make-up on but I have big angry red marks all down the side of my cheeks. ‘Some people don’t understand how badly it affects my confidence and upsets me.’

As a result, Georgia was able to apply her foundation once a day, which happened to go rather well with her self-tan she chose as her luxury item.

It seems the manner in which producers caved was on compassionate grounds yet plenty would argue for either side.

On one, some would deem it vanity and a special privilege no one else is permitted. But on the other, things like this severely affect people’s confidence and mental health, so, after discussion, was deemed the right thing to do.

Clearly the programme’s producers wanted for her to enter the jungle in the first place rather than pulling out, so said compromise was struck.

Georgia was crowned the new Queen of the Jungle on Sunday, after making it to the final alongside Jamie Lomas and third placed Iain Lee.

To the surprise of many, Iain was voted out before Jamie, with bookies’ fave Georgia winning the most public votes and having Scarlett Moffat quite literally hand over her crown from last year’s show.
