I'm A Celeb: Fans were furious that Iain Lee only came third
There we have it – I’m A Celeb is over for another year, and what a ride it’s been!
And while the series was dominated by fall-outs and continuous allegations of bullying, Iain Lee’s gentle and genuine demeanour shone through and subsequently stole fans’ hearts.
Not only was he frank and honest over his mental health issues, he emerged as something of a favourite to win the entire show.
However, when the radio host was announced in third place, the internet – specifically Twitter – were not best pleased.
The fact he ate camel brain and pig’s vagina during the finale’s Bushtucker Trial left plenty of fans miffed how he wasn’t crowned King of the Jungle, let alone failed to make it into the top two.

No one could quite believe how Jamie Lomas had finished higher than him, and brought into question the public’s judgement…
tbh iain leaving 3rd is the third worst decision the british public has made, up there with brexit and voting a tory government #ImACelebfinal

But it wasn’t all negativity towards and from the British voting public. There was also a mountain of support and praise shared for Iain, after he made it all the way to the series final.
Friends praised his character and strength to speak out about mental health issues, which is still seen as something of a taboo in the UK.
I couldn’t be prouder of my mate.#teamiain #imaceleb

Iain Lee finishing in the top three on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here makes me feel less depressed about modern Britain. Decent, funny, clever, honest man.

First Brexit, then Trump, and now @IainLee finishing third behind Jamie. Still, he did AMAZING. Well done pal. So proud. You may have lost the final, but you won a hell of a lot of people over. And did wonders for crying men everywhere.

Once Iain was voted out, he was subsequently interviewed, whereby he revealed why he went into the jungle in the first place and joked about hating all the men in camp.
‘I’ll tell you why I did it, it’s ‘cos I want to get more people to listen to my radio show. I do this radio show on talkRADIO, and I think it’s really cool and a bit psychedelic, and I thought this is gonna be the best advert.
Also, I thought my boys don’t remember me from being on telly, they weren’t around when I was on telly, so just wanted to have one more opportunity to show them how silly my job is.’

Although we suspect he was being playful suggesting he was in there to boost his radio show numbers because only last week did he speak out about being in there to pay for his mother’s care home costs, which appeared to strike a chord with the public.
‘It was very Alpha in there, wasn’t it, and I’m more of a Beta – maybe even a Gamma.
There was a lot of testosterone in there,’ he said, when questioned about getting on with the boys.

Dec then asked, ‘Are you alright with them on the outside – Amir, Dennis, Jamie?’
To which Iain quipped, ‘Oh no, I hate them all. No, I love them! As far as I’m aware – why, what have they said about me?’
Once Iain was out of the way (so to speak), Jamie and Toff went head-to-head for the final public vote of the series. The latter was crowned the latest Queen of the Jungle by last year’s champ, Scarlett Moffat.
