I'm A Celebrity contestant Amir Khan previously claimed show was for 'has beens'
Just hours after he entered the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! jungle last night, Amir Khan came under fire after an old tweet that saw the boxer claim the ITV reality show was for “has beens” was unearthed.
The star had already rocked viewers after confessing that he had never watched the show before, and now the tweet – that has since been deleted – has been mocked by I’m A Celeb fans.
Written during an #AskAmir Twitter spree in 2012, Amir was responding to a fan who had asked if he would ever go into the jungle.
The star simply replied: “No, it’s for has beens” – much to the amusement of viewers last night:

Still, it sounds like Amir will still be the one getting the last laugh after it was reported that he is earning up to 10 times more than his fellow jungle contestants.
According to The Sun, the 30-year-old father-of-one, whose wife Faryal Makhdoom is currently pregnant with their second child, will be pocketing a staggering £250,000 for his stint on this year’s series of the show.
A source told the publication: “There’s a very wide range of payments on the show, and every year some of the top names bag themselves around £250,000.
“This year Amir and Stanley [Johnson] are probably the biggest names, along with Jennie [McAlpine] off Coronation Street.”
Meanwhile, YouTuber Jack Maynard is expected to make substantially less than that, with the insider adding: “The least known stars tend to get somewhere around the £25,000 mark.”
