I'm A Celebrity: Piers Morgan lashes out at Kezia Dugdale after she refuses to be interviewed by him

Piers Morgan has lashed out at I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!‘s latest eliminated contestant, Kezia Dugdale, with the Labour MSP refusing to be interviewed by the controversial Good Morning Britain presenter earlier today.

Kezia instead opted to appear on Lorraine, with Piers forced to announce live on air that Kezia had cancelled her scheduled phone interview.

Clearly unimpressed by her decision, Piers sniped: “Enjoy your friendly interviews today.

“I’m still here if you want a difficult one.”

He went on to admit that he had been planning on grilling Kezia on her decision to enter the Australian jungle whilst a standing MP, adding: “She is going to be on Lorraine – she wouldn’t be on this programme because doesn’t want to be asked questions from me about why she wasn’t serving her constituents.

“That’s what you are getting paid for rather than going half-way across the world to eat kangaroo testicles!

“Get back to your constituency, to your job.”

Kezia found herself in the bottom two alongside singer Vanessa White in yesterday’s episode of the reality show, with the public ultimately opting to save Vanessa.

The politician is the second campmate to have been eliminated, with comic Shappi Khorsandi the first to leave the jungle on Friday [1 December].

Speaking to hosts Ant and Dec during her exit interview, Kezia said that she took part in the programme because she wanted to prove that not all politicians “look like Stanley [Johnson] and are white, old, male and stale”.

It had previously been reported that I’m A Celeb producers had been left disappointed by Kezia’s appearance on the show after they paid her almost six figures to take part.

A source said at the time: “Kezia has been a massive let down since joining the show last week. She hasn’t bonded particularly well with other campmates and doesn’t see herself as part of that showbiz world, she has been acting superior.

“Far from coming out of her shell, she hasn’t broken from her politician mode once or shown a softer side, letting her personality come through.”
