Jordan North has teased that his forthcoming talent series will be "completely different" from any that has come before it.

BBC Three series Project Icon is a new six-part music competition that aims to set itself apart from the likes of The X Factor and The Voice.

I'm A Celebrity star Jordan North appeared on The One Show this week to reveal some details about the show.

"People will be watching this and rolling their eyes and thinking 'Not another talent show, I thought we were done with them'," he said.

"But it's not like any other talent show you've seen on TV before. This is completely different, give it a go."

North appeared on The One Show alongside Project Icon co-star Jason Derulo.

Derulo and his long-term manager, Frank Harris, will act as mentors on the new series, alongside singer Becky Hill.

"I feel like there haven't been a lot of superstars born from these shows, and I feel like it's because they're based primarily on singing," explained Derulo.

"So I wanted to make a show that was based on the music industry. In the music industry, you have to have so many different skill sets.

"You have to be able to write a song, to create a hit song. A song that people want to sing and do something to. Can you use social media? That's our new age. Taking all of these different facets that exist in the industry and putting them into this one show."

The rapper went on to tease that viewers can expect to see a lot of drama in the show.

"There are eight contestants in one house and, as you can imagine, there's a lot of ego, drama, and romance. They're all competing to get a huge record deal and release a single with me, as well as performing on Radio 1's Big Weekend," he added.
