I'm a mom of 11. Here are 10 of my favorite cheap, easy breakfasts to make at home.

As a mom of 11, I've learned the importance of flexibility — especially on busy mornings.

With so many different schedules and preferences, I take a "breakfast bar" approach where everyone can choose from various cheap and easy staples. But we also take turns preparing a "hot and fresh" option each day for those who prefer a more filling meal.

Grocery prices have skyrocketed lately, which can make things more difficult. But by making things ourselves and sticking to tried-and-true staples, we find a way to stick to our budget.

Here are 10 breakfast options we eat regularly.

Waffles end up on the table at least once a week.

At least once a week, someone makes a triple batch of our favorite waffle recipe. Any that aren't eaten that day are frozen to reheat another time.

We always prepare a homemade simple syrup with maple flavoring for our waffles. But our other favorite toppings include whipped cream, sprinkles, butter, and peanut butter.

We've come up with our own breakfast meatballs that are always a big hit.

Sausage and cheese balls are simple to make and reheat well.

I use the food processor to mix butter into seasoned flour and baking powder. Then, I add in a pound of sausage and cheese by hand.

After rolling them into balls, I bake them.

A couple of my kids like to dip these in syrup, but most of the family prefers them without.

Breakfast burritos or tacos are a great way to use up leftovers.

Taco Tuesday is a long-standing tradition in our house, which means Wednesday is the perfect morning for breakfast burritos.

I cook a pound of ground sausage and scramble a dozen eggs. Then, I set out leftovers from the night before, and the kids can decide what they want to put on their tortillas.

Cheese and pico de gallo are our standard go-to toppings.

You can't go wrong with scrambled eggs and fruit.

We're blessed to have friends with chickens who share their bounty with us, so eggs frequently appear on our breakfast bar.

My toddlers love scrambled eggs with fruit on the side.

Some of the kids dip their eggs in ketchup, but a couple of them prefer them with jelly.

I can feed everyone a bagel for cheap.

I can get a pack of bagels for less than $2 at Aldi, so I frequently stock up and store them in the freezer.

We like to toast our bagels and top them with either cream cheese or butter. But sometimes, the kids will turn them into a breakfast sandwich with a slice of lunch meat and cheddar cheese.

Homemade hash browns are worth the extra effort.

Homemade hash browns can easily turn out miscolored and slimy. But since they're so much cheaper than storebought, I've worked hard to learn how to keep them crispy.

I start by grating washed, peeled potatoes and let the shreds soak in cold water while I heat the oil. Then, I quickly rinse them off to remove the starch and squeeze out as much water as possible before letting them cook in the hot oil.

It takes a few minutes, but the results are worth it.

Fresh bread is a nice treat on especially busy days.

When I know a morning will be rushed, I make a double batch of a quick, homemade bread (like pumpkin bread) the night before.

I always bake it in a 9-by-13 pan instead of a loaf tin so it cooks faster and can be cut into smaller pieces.

Everyone can pick what they like on a breakfast sandwich.

Breakfast sandwiches can be completely customized by adding toppings to a hamburger bun or bagel.

Our favorite filling options are sausage patties, sliced ham, fried eggs, sliced cheese, bacon strips, and mashed avocado.

Biscuits and gravy is a great weekend treat.

Biscuits and gravy is one of our favorite meals on slow Saturday mornings. It's really the perfect morning comfort food.

I make the biscuits from scratch and buy ground sausage at Aldi to keep the costs down.

Keeping pancakes in the freezer makes them easy to grab throughout the week.

We make pancakes in bulk, so the kids can always grab a couple from the freezer and heat them.

They're a favorite in my house, so I pretty much always have some ready.
