In pictures: Jaw-dropping finalists competing for 'World's Best Landscape Photo 2019'

With jaw-dropping vistas, stunning panoramas and nature at its most intoxicating, it’s not hard to see why these images were selected as the best landscape pictures in the world in 2019.

Judges whittled down 25,000 entrants to just 50 finalists for ‘The World's Best Photos of #Landscape2019' competition.

Entries in the Agora competition included a picture from @anhtrungqng, which featured a ferryman pushing his empty boat to fetch passengers to take across the largest freshwater lake in Da Lat, Vietnam.

Another picture from finalist @djollebate showed a stunning snapshot of Perucac Lake in Tara National Park, Serbia.

He managed to take the beautiful image while carrying his three-year-old daughter through an area that was home to several bears.

He said: "I want to show to the world that Serbia is an incredibly beautiful small country with a lot of spots like this one.

The father added: "While I waited for the right moment to take a photo because it was cloudy and light was bad, suddenly I saw this beautiful ray of light just at the right place..."

Other pictures include beautiful castles in France and the cosmic clouds over an active volcano.

While there were seven entries from the UK, none of them managed to make the final 50.

The images will now be voted for via the Agora app and a winner of the $1,000 (£776) prize will be selected later this week.
