India, Australia evenly poised for series down under: Gilchrist

Bangalore, Dec 9 (ANI): Former Australian batsman and wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist, here in Bangalore, has opined that India and Australia are evenly poised ahead of their three month long tussle Down Under. Gilchrist said that solid batting line-ups and inexperienced but talented bowlers meant that the team that would acclimatise to the Australian summer first, would have the upper hand. "It's going to be a very exciting series. I think the teams are quite evenly matched. Both (have) quite experienced batting line-ups, and quite inexperienced bowling line-ups. It happens to be so at the moment through injury, and maybe loss of form for some players. That's what it's going to come down to, I think. Both teams will bat well, and conditions will be conducive to high scoring, so the bowling line-ups are going to have to work hard," he said. India are set to play Australia in four Test matches, two Twenty20 Internationals and a triangular one-day international series featuring Sri Lanka. Gilchrist was also excited about the 2012 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), saying that he did not mull retiring from it just yet, unlike fellow veteran Shane Warne, who intended to participate in the Australian domestic Twenty20 league.
