Indianapolis Officials Warn of Dangerous Driving Conditions Amid Winter Storm Warning

A winter storm warning was due to remain in effect for Indianapolis and surrounding counties until 7 am on December 17 as the second snowstorm in two days hit the area.

The heaviest snowfall was forecast along the I-70 corridor, the weather service said, with up to 4 inches of snow expected to fall, adding to the 4 inches that had already fallen in the Indianapolis area by Sunday night, the weather service said.

The Wayne Township Fire Department shared this footage in the early hours of Monday morning, warning drivers that they may experience difficulties on the morning commute. “Don’t be fooled this morning,” the post read. “Roadways may look clear but the surfaces are slushy and will catch you off guard.”
