Inquest opens after 'beautiful and beloved' woman found dead in Abersoch

An inquest has opened into the death of "beautiful" woman from North Wales. Caren Elen Williams, 33, of Dinas, Caernarfon, was found "unresponsive" at a property in Abersoch last week.

Kate Robertson, senior coroner for north west Wales, said Ms Williams had been with her partner during the day. The exact circumstances were not disclosed at today's opening hearing in Caernarfon but Ms Robertson said that "at some point she became unresponsive".

Emergency services were called but despite attempts at CPR she was sadly confirmed to have died by a paramedic at a house in Bay View Terrace, Abersoch at 2.30am JUne 21). Ms Robertson said that she ordered a post mortem examination.

Pathologist Dr Mohammad Zain Mehdi conducted the examination on June 26 but he has not yet provided a cause of death pending further enquiries. Today the coroner said that as she suspects it was an unnatural death she would open and adjourn the inquest pending the completion of further investigations. After Caren's tragic death, a friend Gwenan Roberts who organised a GoFundMe for her friend said she was a "beautiful soul...(who) will be missed by so many".

Caren's funeral will take place on July 10, it was confirmed today.
