Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is set for a well-deserved break after an illustrious near-decade at Anfield, having clinched both Premier League and Champions League glory.

The iconic German gaffer has made it clear he's not hanging up his managerial boots just yet, revealing plans for a sabbatical before diving into another high-profile football role.

His next move? Well, his other half heavily influences that, Ulla Sandrock, who previously played a pivotal role in swerving a potential stint at Manchester United, reports the Mirror.

Klopp has plenty on his plate to keep him occupied in the meantime, with family time including a new grandchild and a lavish villa project under the sun on the cards.

"This will be the first time in my life where I don't have a real idea of what I will do and that's exactly what I want," Klopp disclosed about his upcoming downtime.

Here's the scoop on what the family man has lined up away from the pitch...

Devoted wife

Klopp and his devoted wife, Ulla romance kicked off when she was serving at Oktoberfest in Munich, and they've been inseparable since, moving in together within days and tying the knot in December 2005.

According to legendary Reds defender Phil Thompson, Jurgen Klopp, former Borussia Dortmund manager in 2013, was a potential candidate to replace Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United.

However, his wife thought otherwise. "Klopp told me he could have taken over Manchester United, but his wife said it wasn't right," Thompson reveals during his interview for Sky Sports.

Following his wife's advice has proved fruitful for Klopp as he's managed to secure eight trophies in eight years while at Anfield.

While speaking about extending his contract with Liverpool in 2022, Klopp mentioned, "What is very important and is probably the most important - because I could not work against that and wouldn't want to work against it - is that my family, in this case especially Ulla, she just loves it here," Klopp said.

"The most important contract in my life I signed is the one with Ulla."

Klopp also shared on Sky Sports News that per his wife's instruction, he was encouraged to learn how to cook and take dance classes during his time off.

He jokingly added: "I said you don't want me to have a break because if I do that I will start working after four weeks again.

"I should learn cooking probably so I can at least make some breakfast or whatever," he admitted.

"During Covid I did scrambled eggs but after that I forgot it again."

"I was raised in the Black Forest with two sisters, the only reason I knew where the kitchen was because the smell came from there." Klopp added quirkily. "I'm pretty useless in private life."

New grandchild

Both Klopp and his wife Ulla have children from previous relationships.

Klopp was previously married to Sabine Klopp for 12 years and they share a son, Marc.

He is also stepfather to Ulla's son Dennis.

Last summer, the couple became grandparents when Dennis welcomed a child.

"I already look like a grandad and now I am one, it's cool," Klopp expressed, describing his 'perfect summer' spent with his new grandchild.

The manager is believed to be eager to spend more of his free time with the newest addition to his family.

"We both thought it was a blessing that we could be around for about four weeks, seeing him growing and all these kinds of things, going through all the first phases," he shared.

"Yes, only staying on the sideline, but being involved anyway."

"It's long ago that we were in that role, to be honest, but I can tell you it's like riding a bike," the 56-year-old added.

"It's just beautiful. The most beautiful thing I have experienced in the last 30 years. To welcome such a little wonderful human being."

Holiday home.

Klopp has been building an 'ecological paradise' since purchasing a £3.4 million villa on the Balearic island of Mallorca.

Liverpool legend Mark Lawrenson told Off The Ball: "I have a house somewhere not far away from where he's building his.

Ulla, his wife, is in charge of everything in terms of that and he said: 'The bloody thing's not even ready yet, and I'm paying all the bills! '".

"I can tell you now, it's not a nice gaff, it's an absolutely fabulous gaff," the former defender enthused.

"It's sensational. So he's probably going to retreat to there for a while, I would suggest."

In 2022, the manager snapped up the property from Swiss businessman and artist Rolf Knie and has since been overhauling the expansive 5,000-square-metre estate.

German tabloid Bild spilt the details on the eco-friendly abode, which boasts cutting-edge air conditioning, heating, and irrigation systems.

The garden's transformation is in the hands of the same landscapers who crafted the bespoke grounds of Richard Branson's Son Bunyola hotel on the island.

The gaffer is also reportedly having another residence constructed in Wiesbaden, Germany, not far from Mainz where his coaching odyssey began.

This new home will serve as a haven for him and his wife Ulla to cherish moments with their latest family addition, their grandchild.
