Instagram influencer couple Samsara stages humorous fake paparazzi pictures
Blending celebrity culture with food and humour, Instagram account Samsara is a new follow to get on your radar.
Run by Sara Morsillo and Samuel Batista - who met while studying at Sapienza University of Rome - the duo share paparazzi-style photos of themselves walking the streets of the city in co-ordinated high fashion outfits while eating junk food.
“Our concept is to show the three top things that people like to show on social media: love, fashion, and food,” Sara told The Cut.
“On social media, it doesn’t matter who you really are,” added Sam. “People comment on our profile, ‘Who are you?’ But actually, I think they don’t want to know. They prefer the idea that you are someone. And this gives us many possibilities.”
The account started out as a parody of other influencers, but as momentum built up brands began to send Sara and Sam clothing for free in return for being tagged in their posts.

“Outside of social media, this reality does not exist,” Sam explained, with Sara chiming in that Instagram isn’t the reality for celebrities either. Their handle @zoomthas**t came from the public’s interest in zooming in on images of celebrities to look for flaws.

“We started it as sort of a joke. But now it is getting serious,” Sam explained. Their most recent post features the duo wearing futuristic black and white outfits from unisex brand Biskit.
