International Space Station Captures Hurricane Michael From Space

The International Space Station captured impressive satellite footage of Hurricane Michael passing through the Gulf of Mexico on Tuesday, October 9.

Tropical Storm Michael became a hurricane in the northwestern Caribbean on the morning of Monday, October 8.

Forecasters said the storm would likely become a major hurricane before making landfall along the Florida Panhandle or Big Bend area on Wednesday. By Wednesday evening and into Thursday, Michael was forecast to be downgraded back to a tropical storm. It was then forecast to cross the southeastern United States and exit into the ocean off the Mid-Atlantic states early Friday. Credit: International Space Station via Storyful
