The internet is mocking Donald Trump mercilessly for drinking water like a small child

The President of the United States and Commander in Chief drinks water like a child.

Or, at least, he does according to the internet, which has mocked him roundly for yet another bizarre drink-related mishap.

On Monday, Donald Trump gave a speech on national security, but distracted observers by holding and drinking from a glass with both hands.

It’s not the first time his “two-handed chimpmunk-like style of drinking water” has provoked hilarity on Twitter and Facebook.

In the 30-minute speech, Trump said he would defend the nation against new threats, including “cyber and electromagnetic attacks.”

He made much of his plan to withdraw from “the very expensive and unfair Paris climate accord”.

Amusingly, the controversial Republican actually fiercely mocked Marco Rubio, who ran against him in the 2016 election, for exactly same thing.

Trump repeatedly attacked the Florida Senator for taking a large gulp of bottled water, once splashing around water at a rally shouting: “It’s Rubio!”

According to MSNBC, Trump even went as far as to send Rubio water bottles with his face on them with a note that read: “Since you’re always sweating, we thought you could use some water.”

After Trump was first mocked for his strange drinking style, it was pointed out that he had taken a leaf from Rubio’s book.

The former Presidential hopeful tweeted: “Similar, but needs work on his form. Has to be done in one single motion & eyes should never leave the camera. But not bad for his 1st time.”

One user tweeted: “This is how I tell my 4-year-old to drink water…with both hands so she doesn’t spill it.”

Holly O’Reilly added: “Can someone please explain to me why President (COUGHbabyhandsCOUGH) Trump needs two hands to drink a glass of water?”

Matt Binder tweeted that it was “just an extremely normal way to drink out of a small glass of water”

Perhaps most amusingly, Ken Klippenstein added that “Trump drinks water like Gollum eats fish”
