Iraqi Forces Announce Recapture of Hawija From Islamic State

Iraq’s Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi was in Paris on October 5, where he said that Iraqi forces had retaken the northern town of Hawija from Islamic State.

On the same day, the Iraqi Federal Police said that the Iraqi flag had been raisedover government buildings and a public hospital in Hawija.
