Iraqi Forces Take Over Last Kurdish-Held Area in Kirkuk

Iraqi forces claimed to have captured the final Kurdish-held area of Kirkuk province on October 20, after a three-hour battle with Peshmerga fighters. The reclaimed town, Altun Kupri, or Perde in Kurdish, lies to the north of Kirkuk city.

Kurdish sources also reported “full control” of the area by Iraqi troops. Credit: Rawand Be Bak via Storyful
