This Morning guest Iris Jones reveals extent of money she paid to Facebook lover
The 83-year-old TV guest revealed for the first time she gave thousands of pounds to 37-year-old estranged husband.
This Morning guest Iris Jones has revealed for the first time that she gave her estranged husband thousands of pounds during their relationship.
The 83-year-old grandmother from Weston-Super-Mare found fame after she appeared on the ITV show in 2020 to discuss her Facebook romance with 37-year-old Mohamed Ibriham from Cairo, Egypt, but recently revealed they had separated.
Jones has now revealed in a lengthy post on Facebook that she has paid almost £70,000 to Ibriham since they met, and said their marriage broke down when she told him she could not afford to give him any more money.

She wrote: "I wish to tell you all the truth about the relationship between Mohamed and myself. On June 25th, 2019, I received a message from Mohamed, and we became friends on messenger. He seemed a nice bloke... Our messages to one another continued and I began to realise he was getting to be more loving and on July 10th, 2019, he proposed marriage!
"He'd never seen what I looked like and my first reaction was 'You are b***dy mad! But the love-bombing continued and in November 2019 I flew to Cairo and met him.
"I had taken several thousand pounds with me, and I paid all his debts as he had been borrowing on his credit card. We had a wonderful time and I stayed for a month. We tried to get married, but we didn't have the correct documents. An official at the British Embassy in Cairo, called John Neil, took me to one side and said, 'Don't give him any money'."
But Jones revealed she gave Ibriham a further £15k the second time she visited him in Egypt.
The couple married the third time she visited him in November 2020. Jones claimed she had about £40k in her bank account and she gave her new husband her bank card and he began withdrawing her money.
Ibriham moved to live with Jones in Weston-Super-Mare after being granted a three-year-visa in 2021.
She said: "Mohamed has never had a job and never had any money. I used to say to people that we shared expenses, but my money paid for everything... Mohamed asked me would I lend him money to put into his account, so as to satisfy the Home Office, he wasn't sponging off the state."
Jones claimed he even asked her to sign her home over to his name.
She revealed in January this year she told her husband she could not afford to give him anymore money and they argued.
Jones said: "Our marriage started to deteriorate after that. Many, many rows and they were getting more toxic and he was becoming verbally abusive...

"On June the 13th of this year, after another vitriolic row, I told him to go. It was one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make, as my love for Mohamed was genuine, but it was no good pretending that things would improve. I let my head rule my heart."
Jones appeared on This Morning in January 2020 and told hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield their love was “real and true” and he had agreed to sign a legal document to prove he did not want to lay claim to her money.
She then became a global internet sensation when she went into graphic detail about her sex life live on air.
