Serie A giants Juventus are weighing up a shock move for Swansea City youngster Aimar Govea, reports in Italy have claimed.

The 17-year-old signed his first professional deal with the Swans back in March, despite interest from elsewhere. Arsenal, Brighton, and Southampton, all showed serious interest in taking the winger , while Newcastle United similarly made tentative enquiries, along with several sides in La Liga.

Aimar, the younger brother of former Swan Jordi, went on to make his first team breakthrough last season, making five appearances for the Swans under boss Luke Williams.

He remains a highly-rated prospect by insiders, and it seems he's continuing to attract attention from elsewhere.

According to Italian outlet TuttoSport, Juventus are now "moving decisively" to try and bring the Ecuadorean under-17 international to Turin, and could complete a deal should they submit an offer of just over £1m.

The same report claims that several sides from England and Spain are also interested in the teenager, who's expected to return to pre-season training with the rest of the squad next week.

Indeed, having overseen his step up into the first team, boss Williams may well be ready to hand the forward a greater role next season.

“I like him because he clearly has quality, no doubt,” Williams said when quizzed on the starlet's development last season.

“He strikes the ball well, manipulates the ball well. He has a change of direction, shifts his body weight and he is quick enough, so all those things I like.

“And then he is concentrating in training, listening, has a good attitude and those things are equally important.

“Aimar has a chance to be really good if he continues like that. He earned his place to get in the squad and to be on the pitch."
