ITV Axe Bear Grylls: Mission Survive

There’s bad news if you’re a celebrity and were hoping to learn some survival skills with Bear Grylls, because ITV have gone and axed his Mission Survive programme.

It ran for two series, being won by Vogue Williams the first time in Costa Rica and Alex Scott the second, when celebrities were in South Africa.

Confirming that the show would no long run, an ITV spokesperson said, according to Digital Spy: “We had two exciting series of Mission Survive, but the commissioning team continues to refresh the channel’s entertainment portfolio and so we have taken the decision not to commission a further series.

“We would like to thank Bear and the production team for everything that they achieved with the series. We have a number of projects with Bear in the pipeline and we will be announcing more details in due course.”

Bear also stars in a number of other popular series, including The Island and Running Wild, the latter of which is another celebrity-based show.

Running Wild involves celebrities embarking on a two-day trip in the wilderness, with Zac Efron, Channing Tatum and Kate Hudson amongst those who have taken part.
