ITV Coronation Street star claims UK government 'controls weather' with fans left baffled

An ITV Coronation Street star has shared a bizarre conspiracy theory claiming the UK government controls the weather. Daniel Brocklebank, 44, who has played Billy Mayhew in the ITV soap since 2014, claimed the UK government controls the weather - leaving fans horrified.

ITV Coronation Street star Daniel shared pictures on his social media of a sunny day and wrote to his 100k followers: "Beautiful blue skies in Manchester this morning…However, the planes have already started spraying.. it’ll be grey & miserable again in no time…"

"You actually believe this? I should stick to acting if I were you...." a fan asked. "Don’t be so damned ridiculous," said another. And a third asked: "You are being satirical right?" A fourth typed in reply to the social media snap: "Genuine question.

"What would the government get out of making the sky grey?" Another asked: "Out of curiousity.... how many pilots, engineers, scientists, airport workers, chemical plant workers, delivery drivers et al are in on this cover up and just exactly how have they all been persuaded to keep 100% quiet about it?"

It comes three years on from when the soap star worried his followers when he took to Twitter/X to reveal that he "had enough." He said: "Thanks for all of your lovely messages. They’ve restored my faith in humanity hugely. Yesterday was particularly testing but today is a new day. Big love to you all."

He did not elaborate on what led to his worrying message but was inundated with supportive tweets from his hoards of fans. Several sent him snaps of things that cheer them up - such as pet photos and snaps of baking achievements - in a bid to make the star smile.

Daniel's message sharing that he was low received over 340 replies - which did not go unnoticed.
