Coronation Street's favourite, Jack P Shepherd, who is famed for his role as David Platt, is thrilled to announce that he's set to marry his long-standing partner Hanni Treweek.

The couple's engagement announcement was joyfully shared by Hanni on her Instagram page on Sunday. She excitedly wrote: "05.06.24 I said YES to forever! ! ! " Their engagement photos captured the couple blissfully happy, sharing a smooch and sporting matching beige shirts.

Former Coronation Street actress Michelle Keegan was quick to chime in with her heartfelt congrats, exclaiming: "Awww congratulations to you both!" The pair have been showered with well-wishes from followers, with comments like: "That's wonderful, congratulations! ! ! ! ! !"

Jack and Hanni seem to have been relishing their getaway from Britain, delving into the African vistas for nearly a month. Hanni has been avidly updating fans with gorgeous snaps from their holiday under the sun, and Jack too, has been posting enchanting pictures of the scenery they encountered.

During a romantic sunset safari in Zanzibar, Jack asked Hanni to marry him, and unmistakably, her beaming delight at the proposal was undeniable, reports the Mirror.

The lovebirds first went public with their relationship back in 2018, when Jack candidly told OK! Magazine that he found his 'soulmate' in Hanni. During a telly chat, Jack opened up about his relationship and future prospects with his partner, including thoughts on marriage and children, stating: "I think it is only sensible really to have those sorts of conversations with a partner or someone that you're dating even if you're going out for like a few months, as soon as you know it's serious."

His other half Hanni, equally smitten and present during the show, reflected on their initial encounter, saying: "I think we fell quite quickly and from that we just clicked, and we were on the same page, and you do have those conversations but yeah I think we would like to... in the future."

The couple, cohabiting for more than two years, often take to social media to give fans a glimpse into their shared life, from cosy snaps within their abode and adventures with their trio of dogs, to documenting their romantic getaways and evenings out.

Previously, the Corrie favourite hinted at intentions to eventually exchange vows with Hanni, though he suggested there was no urgency to head to the altar. Speaking to OK!

Jack remarked: "We will get married but we're not engaged yet. We want to do all those big milestones like marry, have kids, and buy a house, we're just not quite there yet. I didn't want to scare Hanni off but we did have the discussion about marriage and children early on as you need to know you want the same things."

Prior to his relationship with Hanni, Jack was in a long-term partnership with Lauren Shippey, dating back to 2002. The couple have two children together, a daughter named Nyla and a son, Reuben.
