ITV Coronation Street's Joel Deering 'exposed' as he's 'caught out' in downfall twist

It appears that Coronation Street's villain Joel Deering, portrayed by actor Calum Lill, might finally face retribution in the upcoming episodes.

Soap guru Sharon Marshall hinted at impending drama on the cobbles during her appearance on This Morning. She shared with presenters Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley that explosive secrets are about to unravel.

A preview of Friday's episode was shown to This Morning viewers, revealing a scene where Joel's celebratory engagement dinner is abruptly disrupted.

A mysterious blonde teenager enters, seeking out Joel and informing Amy Barlow, played by Elle Mulvaney, of her intention to talk to him, prompting a visibly agitated Joel to confront her for answers.

Commenting on the cliffhanger, Sharon remarked: "Shaken, shaken. Is she going to ask questions? " Suggesting that if the girl digs too deep, it could spell the end for Joel, reports the Express.

Soap fans are well aware that Joel is the real culprit behind the assault on Lauren Bolton, played by Cait Fitton, who has since disappeared from the street.

With many suspecting that Lauren may have met a grim fate, Nathan Curtis ( Chris Harper) is currently imprisoned for her supposed murder after being framed by police officer Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) who planted hair in Nathan's vehicle.

Despite Joel's success in evading detection so far, recent developments suggest his days of freedom could be numbered.

In Monday's episode of the ITV soap, audiences witnessed Joel unnervingly ingratiating himself with Sabrina Adetiba (Luana Santos). While seated on a park bench, he poured liquor into her cup and pretended to do the same for himself.

The young woman, Sabrina, took his attention as a compliment, however, her friend was distinctly unimpressed upon arrival.

Unabashedly pointing out the significant age gap, she didn't hold back in labelling him 'slimy' and urged caution to Sabrina.

Despite his firm denials, she maintained that he had tried to ply her friend with booze. Later, she confronted the man she identified as a lawyer, faulting him for providing alcohol to Sabrina earlier.

Telling him she has a "big gob" - she informed Joel that she'd require financial incentive to stay quiet about the incident. She further elaborated: "Doesn't sound good, does it? Weird old lawyer, chatting up young vulnerable woman, plying her with alcohol."

Maintaining the lie that he only meant to help, he managed escape the conversation. Although it's clear she won't be dropping her gut feeling on him anytime soon.

Coronation Street fans can expect to follow this plot unfolding further in an episode set to air Friday, ITV, 8pm.
