ITV soaps Emmerdale and Coronation Street will not be broadcast in their regular slots this Friday. Instead, the channel will be showcasing the latest UEFA Euro 2024 match. In a change to the usual programming, viewers will be able to tune into the Group A match live from Munich Football Arena. The match will see Germany, one of the favourites to win the tournament, go head-to-head with Scotland.

While ITV's coverage will commence at 6:30pm, the actual match won't kick off until 8pm. Mark Pougatch will be presenting the game, with analysis provided by Graeme Souness, Roy Keane, Ian Wright and Laura Woods. Reporting on the match will be Connie McLaughlin, while Sam Matterface and Ally McCoist will be providing commentary. Germany, who automatically qualified for the tournament, are hoping to secure another victory.

Historically, Germany has been successful in football, having won the World Cup four times and the European Championship three times. Scotland, on the other hand, have yet to clinch a Euro tournament win, reports the Express.

The much-anticipated match coincides with the usual broadcast times for both Emmerdale and Coronation Street, resulting in them being taken off air for the evening. Typically, Emmerdale is shown in half-hour episodes throughout the week, with an hour-long episode aired on Thursdays. Coronation Street usually airs for an hour at 8pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

While ITV has not yet commented on the scheduling shift, the TV guide indicates that Coronation Street will be broadcast next Tuesday (June 17), having also been removed from Monday night's schedule. Emmerdale is set to follow suit, with an hour-long episode scheduled for June 18.

Despite these minor adjustments, viewers can still anticipate a week filled with drama on ITV.

In Coronation Street, tension appears to be escalating between Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) and her sister's partner, Nick Tilsley (Ben Price). On the day of her baby's funeral, she finds comfort in Nick's arms after being betrayed by Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson). Meanwhile, Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) offends Summer Spellmen's (Harriet Bibby) boyfriend upon her return from America.

Elsewhere, Bethany Platt's (Lucy Fallon) latest writing task provokes Abi Franklin (Sally Carman), and Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) offers to become Ken Barlow's (Bill Roache) carer.

Over in Emmerdale, Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson) and Moira Barton (Natalie J. Robb) pay a visit to Matty Barton in prison (Ash Palmisciano). Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) is fraught with anxiety as she speaks with the midwife, while Claudette Anderson (Flo Wilson) urges Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) to fight for her relationship with Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin).
