Loose Women's Andrea McLean confirms return four years after 'emotional' ITV exit
Four years after she quit the show, after 13 in years in charge, former Loose Women presenter Andrea McLean made a shock return on Wednesday. And not only that, she confirmed she'd be back to host later this year.
Still the ITV programme's longest serving anchor, former GMTV weather presenter Andrea left Loose Women in emotional scenes in December 2020. Confirming her departure, Andrea told her colleagues: "I want to be brave, all the incredible feedback I've had from my book and the support I was able to give, I want to bring it to life. It was a really dig decision to jump to see if I fall or if I fly, and I just knew I would never know if I never tried."
In emotional scenes, Andrea ended up in tears as fellow Loose Women stars like Kaye Adams, Denise Welch and Carol McGiffin joined in the goodbyes, along with celebs like Ben Shephard and Joey Essex, before Brenda Edwards serenaded her with a special version of The Temptations classic My Girl.

Andrea was an unexpected guest on Wednesday's Loose Women, as the show dedicated an episode in honour of the 40th anniversary of Surprise Surprise making its TV debut. And Andrea had a surprise of her own, when she revealed she'd actually be back on the panel as a presenter in September, as Loose Women has a landmark birthday of its own, when it turns 25.
Being interviewed by current host Christine Lampard, as well as being shown a montage of memorable moments, Andrea spoke about just how much being on the show meant to her, having shared very personal insights about her family life and struggles on the panel.
