ITV Loose Women star shuts down return rumours after bitter exit

Former Loose Women star Carol McGiffin has put an end to rumours of her return to the popular ITV show, labelling it "that little job". Viewers have voiced their longing for her return, with some saying "it's not the same without you".

Despite fans wishes, Carol has denied that she is set to return to the show. The TV personality was a pivotal member of the ITV panel from 2000 to 2013 and then again from 2018 to 2023.

Her departure brewed controversy as she stated she had been "forced" to leave. The Mirror reports last year, she expressed her feelings about leaving colleagues like Nadia Sawalha and Denise Welch.

The star said: "I feel quite upset about it, if I'm honest, because although it is my decision, I felt like it was one I was being forced to make. No one in their right mind would have signed that contract and I can't see a way back from it."

While she squashed rumours of returning to the beloved daytime programme, Carol may not be hanging her boots up for good. She playfully let her 154,000 Instagram followers know that she had not "totally retired yet".

Taking full advantage of her frank nature, Carol used a post on Instagram to plug her podcast. Posting a photo with a microphone, Carol captioned it: "Apparently, some people are missing me.

"Not because I haven't been on here for ages but because I'm not on that daytime ITV show I used to do, Loose Women. Sadly that little job isn't coming back but I'm not totally retired yet."

The former Loose Women star also said: "I'm still doing this podcast which is called 'What's Your Problem with Nick Abbot and Carol McGiffin?' which it available on most podcast outlets. We've been doing it for over four years and quite a lot of people like it! Go on, give it a go! You might enjoy it and you might even laugh."

Her fans have openly expressed their disappointment since she left Loose Women. One fan said the show isn't the same without her. They said: "Loose Women is utterly boring now. Stopped watching about two years ago. Carol only one worth listening to."

Another added: "Loose Women is SO boring without you. All the good original people keep leaving."

A third fan chimed in: "Loose Women is definitely not the same without you. Hardly watch it now. Didn't know you had a podcast - I do now so I will be tuning in."

Another fan added: "Do miss you on Loose Women, turn off some days, can't stand some of them on the panel now, we've had the best I fear, enjoy your semi retirement."
