Loose Women presenters sent their best wishes to Ant McPartlin following the arrival of his first child with wife Anne-Marie on Wednesday's episode, however one shared their concern over the newborn's moniker.

Ant, aged 48, became a father last week as he and his 46-year-old wife Anne-Marie, who got married in 2021, welcomed a baby boy into the world.

The couple, who chose not to reveal their pregnancy to the public, shared the wonderful news on Instagram on Tuesday with a charming black-and-white image of Ant cradling their son.

They revealed their son's name in the heartfelt caption on Tuesday, writing: "Welcome to the family. Wilder Patrick Mcpartlin. Born, 14/05/24 at 8.54am. Baby is beautiful, Mummy's a legend, Sisters are over the moon. Dad's a mess."

During Loose Women on Wednesday, panellists Christine Lampard, Coleen Nolan, Linda Robson, and Gloria Hunniford expressed their joy for Ant and discussed a topic inspired by the news: "Are men just as broody as women? ".

Christine, 45, remarked: "Ant has always said he wanted to be a dad and very open about it, you cannot take away from the fact a lot of men just want to be daddies and they're broody and they're proud.", reports the Mirror.

Gloria, 84, added: "I think we're all very happy, particularly for Ant, because he made no secret of the fact he wanted a child and his wife, the lovely lady who has now given birth to this lovely boy, she had two little girls. So maybe as he was helping to raise those children, he suddenly thought even more: 'I'd really like one of my own'."

However, Gloria then made an observation as she added: "I'm a bit worried about the name Wilder when he gets to that wild stage in his teens, it might take on a whole new meaning but I'm very happy for him" to which Christine pointed out: "Or it might just be wholly appropriate, it might just be perfect!"

After the TV presenter shared the news on the official Ant and Dec Instagram page, Ant's famous friends flocked to share their congratulations on his post.

His fellow TV presenter, Davina McCall, penned: "Arggggghhhhhhhhhh! ! ! ! This is AMAZING ! ! ! ! Congratulations to ALL of you."

First Dates star Fred Sirieix wrote: "Congrats."

Ashley Banjo added: "Congrats guys," while Joel Dommett chimed in: "I LOVE THIS."

Another fan commented: "I've never been so happy for someone I've never met. You're going to be the best daddy Ant."

While someone else added: "Beyond happy for you Ant the final piece of the puzzle to make all your dreams come true congratulations to you, Amzie, Poppy, and Daisy. Enjoy every second of little Wilder."
