The countdown is officially on for Love Island to return to screens this summer, as the first reported Islander has already been announced and he's on the hunt for romance.

Welsh rugby player Ciaran Davies is the first contestant to be signed up, according to OK! Magazine. Unlike many previous stars, Ciaran doesn't have a huge presence on social media - with currently only 23 posts and nearly 4,000 followers on Instagram.

His last post, two weeks ago, was accompanied with the caption: "A Week full of rugby to finish off the 23/24 season." There's no doubt if he does enter the villa, he will see his online followers soar from his time on the ITV dating show.

A source told The Sun: "Ciaran caught the eye of Love Island bosses immediately. He's gorgeous with a fit athletic build that will send the girls in the villa wild, but he's also a sweet boy next door from Wales to boot."

They continued: "He's the kind of lad you could happily take home to your mum. He's been in talks with bosses for weeks and is set to jet out to the villa in Majorca in the coming week or so."

Former Love Island star Chris Taylor is reportedly gearing up to join the presenting line-up ahead of the latest series. The 33-year-old recently took part in its spin-off All-Stars show.

He is set to join The Morning After podcast as well as the weekly Aftersun panel, according to The Sun. A source told the publication: "He’ll be joining Amy Hart, who made her podcast debut earlier this year, as well as Sam Thompson and Indiyah Hart, who have juggled podcast and Aftersun for a couple of series now."

Love Island's All Stars series aired on ITV1 earlier this year, with a number of famous faces entering the show's South African villa, including Scottish star Anton Danyluk. Molly Smith and Tom Clare emerged as the show's winners.

Love Island representitives have been contacted for comment on this story.
