ITV Love Island's second celebrity bombshell set to enter the villa

Love Island is set to welcome another celebrity contestant, with reports indicating that dancer Abbie Quinnen is lined up to enter the villa following Joey Essex's sensational entrance.

Abbie, 27, was in a relationship with actor and Strictly Come Dancing star AJ Pritchard for four years, before the couple split in 2022. She's no stranger to the Love Island scene, as AJ's brother Curtis secured a place in the final during the 2019 season of the hit dating series.

An insider revealed to The Sun: "Joey went in as the first big bombshell and Abbie is waiting in the wings for the call up. She has been in talks with Love Island for weeks over being a bombshell and has said she can't wait to dive in and mix things up. When she was with AJ she found out a lot about Love Island through Curtis so she knows what is in store for her."

The year prior to their split, Abbie was left physically scarred for life when copying a TikTok video in which she and AJ tried to turn a wine bottle into a vase by wrapping a chemically soaked rope around it before it was set on fire. In the horrific accident, Abbie was engulfed in flames during the accident in January 2021, leaving her needing three skin grafts and ongoing treatment, reports The Mirror.

If the rumours are true, Abbie will become the second celebrity to enter the villa hot on the heels of reality television star Joey Essex. Joey is the first well-known celebrity to join the show as a contestant.

Over the years, besides coining his catchphrase 'reem' on TOWIE from 2011 until 2013, Joey has had a stint in the jungle for the 13th series of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! In 2013, he won the Channel 4 series The Jump, tried his luck twice on Celebs Go Dating, appeared on Celebrity Ex on the Beach, been pushed to his limits on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, cooked up a storm on Celebrity MasterChef and made a splash in the first series of Splash!
