ITV Vera issues huge casting call for extras as new filming location confirmed

A mass casting call has been issued for the last ever series of Vera, with over 30 extras needed as filming on the hit drama switches to a brand new location.

It's now been well over a month since it was announced by ITV that the 14th run of Vera will be the final one, with things wrapping up in two feature length mysteries set to air in early 2025. A week after fans were dealt the blow that their favourite show was coming to an end, cameras started rolling in Northumberland, with lead actress Brenda Blethyn and sidekick David Leon seen shooting a scene in Cambois.

Since then, the cast and crew have taken up residence in the likes of Gateshead, Blyth, Ashington, South Shields, Hartlepool and Whitley Bay and, now it's been revealed on social media that one of the locations for the next batch of filming is Alnwick, with plenty of extras needed as the historic town plays host to a mocked up Pagan parade.

A call out was posted by talent agency Ne14.tv wanting over 30 Asian and Black men between the ages of 18 and 35. The post added that 30 of the men chosen will need to be fitted for costumes before the date of filming, as they will be 'highlighted' in the parade scene.

To apply, email dee@ne14.tv with a recent selfie, contact details, location and include a telephone number. You need to also provide your availability of the above dates and your availability from next week. Your email must be titled 'Pagan Parade - Vera.'

There will be an early start for filming on the dates - set to be between June 28-July 3, so applicants must have their own transport and anyone who has already filmed for the new series of Vera can't put themselves forward this time.
