Who Wants To Be A Millionaire has only been won five times in its history, securing its reputation as one of the hardest quiz shows around. But how many of the final £1m questions ever to appear on the show can you answer?

We've rounded up all of the hardest final questions - 17 in total - that have ever been put to players on the ITV show since it started back in 1998, with Chris Tarrant at the helm. Now Jeremy Clarkson is the host dishing out the tough questions to hopeful members of the public.

Judith Keppel, a former garden designer, was the first person to win the show in 2000. Her win even secured her a place as an expert on the BBC gameshow Eggheads.

Her win sparked a flurry of success, with David Edwards, a former physics teacher of Cheadle High School and Denstone College in Staffordshire, scooping the top prize in 2001, and Robert Brydges, a banker from London, joining him the same year.

Pat Gibson, a multiple world-champion Irish quiz player, was the next champion in 2004 and also went on to join Eggheads. Army Major Charles Ingram was the next to win, but he was infamously stripped of his winnings after he was found to have cheated.

Donald Fear, a history and politics teacher from Telford, was the last person to win the show in 2020. He was also the first top-prize winner with lifelines to spare, using only the '50:50' to make it to the £1m question.
