Finlay appeared on BBC Breakfast this morning to discuss watching Grealish perform his dance: “At first I thought he wouldn’t remember, but when he did it, I was like: ‘Oh my God, he’s done the worm.’ It feels like a dream come true, I can’t say how happy I am. I’ve still not got over it yet.”

He also talked about meeting Grealish the week before: “I couldn’t believe it, I was star-struck. When you meet your idol, it’s like meeting Superman or Batman, you can’t imagine it. He wanted to come and see me in his spare time, so I really want to thank him for that.”

Finlay's father also praised the winger despite supporting rival Manchester United: “He had so much on his plate, he had just scored a goal for England, and then he remembered to do that celebration for Fin. It just shows the level of integrity and what a legend the guy is.”

Finlay, despite his condition, plays football through Manchester City's City in the Community initiative which gives opportunities to disabled people.

Grealish's sister also has cerebral palsy and said of their relationship: "I'm so close with my little sister. Hollie is 19 now, she was born three months premature.

"They said that she wouldn't be able to talk, she wouldn't be able to walk, and do a lot of stuff but here we are and she can do everything."
