A gunman and a 'boy racer' who seriously injured another man while driving a sportscar are among those jailed in Berkshire this month.

CALEB FLEMING

Caleb Fleming, a 26-year-old drug dealer, shot another man during a confrontation with a gang in Tamarisk Way, Slough.

The incident occurred in broad daylight outside a GP's surgery, and was captured on CCTV.

The victim required surgery, and was left with life-changing injuries.

At Reading Crown Court, Fleming was jailed for 15 years and nine months, with an extended four years on licence.

Detective Inspector Stuart May - who led the investigation into the incident - said: "Thankfully, incidents involving firearms are incredibly rare, but I know the impact such incidents have in our communities."

SOLOMON AMISSAH

A veteran of the War in Afghanistan killed a mother-of-three while drink-driving home from a Christmas party - and was seen laughing afterwards.

Solomon Amissah, 37, of Mount Lane, Bracknell, ran his car into another vehicle on December 17, 2022.

The other driver, 33-year-old Benedicta Owusu-Buabeng, was killed instantly.

A passer-by stopped to rescue Amissah from the wreck of his car, and testified that he was smirking and laughing in the aftermath of the collision.

Amissah was driving twice over the legal limit, having just left a Christmas party at the Silver Birch pub.

At Reading Crown Court, Judge Amjad Nawaz jailed Amissah for 11-and-a-half years.

ZEESHAN ALI

A boy racer crashed a sportscar he had been lent by a friend's father - seriously injuring another man.

Zeeshan Ali, 21, was spotted driving a BMW M4 in Wokingham Road, Reading, at speeds of up to 60mph.

The local speed limit was 20mph.

With the police on his tail, Ali jumped a red light, colliding with a car driven by health and safety expert Steve Brown.

Mr Brown suffered multiple fractures to the right leg, fractures to two ribs, fractures to the breast bone - and had to spend five weeks in hospital.

Prosecuting barrister Gabrielle McAvock told Reading Crown Court that it was "sheer luck" nobody was killed.

Ali was jailed for three years and one month over the crash.

KLEVIS RROSHI

Klevis Rroshi, originally from Albania, arrived in the UK in the back of a lorry in 2021.

After an asylum application failed, the 21-year-old became indebted to a drug gang, who coerced him into selling cocaine.

At Reading Crown Court, Judge Neil Millard told the defendant: "You didn't have any money to pay them, and so they applied pressure and coercion to you, falling short of duress, to sell drugs for them to pay for the drugs you'd taken."

Rroshi was arrested while street dealing in Thatcham in January this year.

He was jailed for 20 months - half of which he will serve in custody.

The judge in the case warned him that he will likely be deported after serving half his sentence.
