Two finance managers at an exclusive private hospital which treats British Olympic athletes have been jailed for stealing nearly £30,000 from patients.

Sabrina Gianniti, 36, and Donald Reynolds, 39, siphoned off money which patients paid to the Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth in St John’s Wood, home to the medical headquarters of British Athletics.

Reynolds was jailed for 10 months at Southwark crown court yesterday and Gianniti for six months.

Judge Martin Beddoe told them: “You betrayed the substantial trust that your employers and the patients held in you.”

Hospital chiefs became suspicious of the pair and ordered an investigation. They found Gianniti, who has just had her first child, had stolen £14,678 and Reynolds £15,010 between March and July last year.

Gianniti, of Royal Park, and Reynolds, of Walthamstow, both admitted fraud.
