Actress Jaime King has reportedly been granted a temporary restraining order against her husband of 12 years Kyle Newman. King, who is said to have filed both a divorce and domestic violence prevention petition according to People, had the restraining order approved until June 8 when a hearing could take place.

A source told People that King was “distraught” and that a petition for an emergency motion (which focused on child custody and visitation) was “denied without prejudice.”

Neither party has publicly addressed the situation and representatives for both did not comment to People.

King met Newman, who is a director who has worked on music videos for the likes of Taylor Swift and Lana Del Rey, when she was working on his film Fanboys. They were married in 2007.

They have two sons: 6 year old James Knight and 4 year old Leo Thames. Neither party has shared pictures with or of one another on social media in months (Newman did not post anything regarding King on Mother’s Day recently), though their sons feature prominently. Newman’s last picture is a black and white selfie of him and his sons outdoors.

On Mother’s Day, King shared a slideshow video of her sons and wrote, “I am incredibly blessed to be your mama. Thank you for choosing me my beautiful babies. May I always hold for you and be the safest space that you know.”
