Jake Gyllenhaal has landed a huge deal with Amazon MGM Studios following the success of Road House.

As per Variety, the studio has reached an agreement with the star’s production company, Nine Stories Productions, which will see MGM have first option on any projects created by the company.

The agreement will reportedly be in place for three years, with the deal applying to both theatrical and streaming releases. The financial arrangements of the proposal are currently unclear, but it seems Gyllenhaal’s creative spark at least has a home.

The news comes after the recent remake of Road House, which sees Gyllenhaal step into the role of Dalton, a character that was originated by Patrick Swayze in the 1989 cult classic.

The remake has been a huge success thus far, becoming the most watched original film on Prime Video with over 50 million views in its first two weeks.

“The groundbreaking, successful debut of Road House is a testament to the hard work and commitment from the entire Road House filmmaking team and the film's cast led by the phenomenal Jake Gyllenhaal,” said Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon MGM Studios.
