Jake Roche To Release Songs About Dad Shane Richie's Affair

Rixton’s Jake Roche has revealed that he has written songs about his dad Shane Richie’s infamous affairs, and that they’ll be released for the public to hear very soon.

The 23-year-old singer has made no secret of the fact that his father’s infidelity has put a strain on his relationship with him, and now he has released that emotion into his songwriting.

Shane, who played lovable Alfie Moon in EastEnders, married Jake’s mum and Loose Women star Coleen Nolan in 1990 and they also had Jake’s 31-year-old brother Shane Jr. together.

However, in 1999 the family discovered that Shane had been having an affair with ‘Grease’ dancer Claire Tyler and Shane later admitted to having alcohol-fuelled one-night-stands throughout his marriage to Coleen in his autobiography 'Rags to Richie’.

Speaking to The Mirror, 23-year-old Jake explained: “I’m writing a lot about my dad and our relationship. I don’t know if it’s positive but it’s about him and what’s happened.

"One of the lyrics is, 'You shouldn’t see it when you are 10 years old.

"These things affect you a lot. I haven’t spoken to my dad about it. It’s art at the end of the day.”

Coleen previously said of Shane’s infidelity: “During the years we were together Shane had a long-running affair with a dancer. Later, I discovered there had been plenty of other women too. It totally destroyed me.”

Shane remarried in 2007 and has had three more children with his wife, Christie Goddard.
