A DAY jam-packed with racing is in store next weekend, as Dalton Grasstrack Club hosts its summer event.

There will be four adult classes and a full set of youth classes for the event at Spring Lane, Aston Tirrold on July 7.

The favourites for the 1,000cc sidecars will once again be the Cossar brothers, Mark with Carl Blyth on the side, and younger sibling Tom with his passenger Wayne Rickards.

Matt Fumarola and Andi Wilson, plus Dalton club chairman Mike Austin with Vinny Branch, will also be ones to watch. There will be 18 crews on show in total.

The 500cc solo riders are headed by young speedway stars Alfie Bowtell, Jake Mulford, and Oxford Speedway’s Jason Garrad.

Charley Powell was the winner of the last event, while Gloucestershire duo Cameron Taylor and Callum Walker, plus Lincolnshire’s Mickie Simpson and Jack Roberts from Buxton will all be looking to at least make the podium.

The other two adult groups are the 500cc uprights, and the old and new 600cc sidecars.

The whole day gets underway with practice at 10.15am, before tapes up for the first race of 42 at 12.30pm.

There will be facilities, hot and cold food, and a bar on-site. Entry is priced at £15 for adults, while under-16s go free.

The postcode for the venue, which is adjacent to the A417 Reading Road, is OX11 9EJ.
