James Bond producers have confirmed that the next film will be released in 2019, with Daniel Craig expected to return.

The studio has announced that the 25th Bond film will hit cinemas on November 8 2019, although a director and cast are yet to be confirmed.

"James Bond will return to US cinemas on November 8, 2019 with a traditional earlier release in the UK and the rest of the world,” read a tweet posted to the franchise’s official account.

Studio bosses went on to say that international release dates and a cast list would be announced “at a later date”.

According to reports, Craig will play the secret service spy one last time before handing over the reins to a new actor.

The British actor is thought to be in the process of signing a contract to star in the next instalment of the 007 saga, having been convinced by producer Barbara Broccoli.

Craig was widely believed to have quit the franchise, joking in an interview last year that he’d 'rather slash his wrists' than play the secret service spy again.

Cara Delevingne is rumoured to be in talks to star as the latest ‘Bond girl’, while Adele is thought to have signed up to sing the theme.

The partnership of Craig and Adele was a huge success for the studio back in 2012 as Skyfall made an impressive £885 million.
