James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli has given an update on the next chapter of the famous spy franchise, revealing work 'hasn't even begun' on the next movie.

Speaking to The Guardian about the future of 007, Broccoli said there was "a big road ahead" in order to re-invent James Bond for the next generation of audiences.

"Daniel [Craig] gave us the ability to mine the emotional life of the character... I think these movies reflect the time they are in," she said of Craig's time in the role, which ended with 2021's No Time To Die.

"There's a big, big road ahead reinventing it for the next chapter and we haven't even begun with that."

Broccoli's comments come as her and Michael G Wilson's spin-off 007: Road to a Million is set to premiere next month.

Starring Succession's Brian Cox, the reality show will see nine pairs of hopefuls compete to win a £1 million prize pot.

A recently released trailer for the series shows Cox as the show's villain, standing between contestants and the prize money, in a globe-spanning adventure which sees the group take on a series of James Bond-inspired challenges.

However, Broccoli insisted that the future of James Bond would remain on "big, theoretical screens", adding: "Our focus is making the feature films."

This isn't the first time the producer has shut down the prospect of a 007 TV series either, previously telling Total Film in 2021: "We make films. We make films for the cinema. That's what we do."

007: Road to a Million comes to Prime Video on November 10. No Time to Die is out now on home video as well as digital. All the previous Bond movies are available on DVD or Blu-ray.
