James Corden Would ‘Love To Do Another Gavin & Stacey Special‘

It’s been six years since we last got a look into the lives of Gavin & Stacey, with the last episode of the brilliant show airing on New Year’s Day in 2010.

It seems we’re not the only ones who seriously miss seeing what’s occuring with Gavin, Stacey, Smithy, Pamela, Mick, Nessa, and everyone else, with Smithy himself, James Corden, admitting he’d love to do one last episode.

Yes. Please.

Before we get too excited though, the fate of another episode lies in the timing, with James currently super busy hosting The Late Late Show out in America.

Speaking to the Daily Star, he admitted: “I’d love to do another Gavin & Stacey special. It’s just finding the time. My favourite was the last Christmas special.

“Writing that with Ruth for two weeks was just brilliant, so I’d love to do another one. Watch this space.”

We will, James.

Luckily, the talkshow host has brought Smithy back for a special Sport Relief sketch on BBC’s iPlayer, in which he announces his plans to run for Fifa president.

The clip, which features the likes of José Mourinho and Steven Gerrard, shows Smithy vowing to ‘clean up’ the ‘tarnished’ image of the footballing world.

José actually plays Smithy’s campaign manager in the sketch, saying: “Winston Churchill, Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela. Three of the most inspirational leaders of our time, but I don’t think any of them could save football like Neil Smith.

“Please, Vote Smithy for president, and make him the new ‘special one’.”

Amazing work.

James’ Sport Relief sketch will be shown tomorrow night (March 18), and can be seen online now. All details of how to donate to Sport Relief can be found here.
