The rugby star was a contestant on the show in 2019 and was talking to presenters Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard about how Madeley might do if he signed up for it.
“I think he’ll be amazing, and I tell you what, my one thing with Richard…" he said, before Shephard chimed in to ask: “He will be amazing or he might be?”
Rushing to correct his apparent blunder, Haskell said: “He might be amazing. He might be amazing, hypothetically.”
Laughing, he added: “I feel like one of your politicians – 'I didn’t take the money, I didn’t do anything!'"
Madeley has been teasing for weeks that he is taking part in the reality show and signed off from Good Morning Britain last week with yet another clue.

The star, who is one of the show's guest presenters, said: "Now then... I've got places to go, people to see and things to eat... interesting things to eat, so I'll be back very soon after Christmas. This is my last show for a while.”
I’m A Celebrity returns later this month, with Ant and Dec back as hosts.
It is taking place at Gwrych Castle in Wales for the second year, after moving there from the Australian jungle in 2020 because of the coronavirus pandemic.
