James Martin will present Christmas Day cooking show with special guests

From Prima

James Martin will be hosting a cooking show on Christmas day for the first time ever –although we hope his festive spread won't put ours to shame this year.

The celebrity chef will be serving up a dazzling feast of festive food and entertainment, ITV has announced and it will also include a mouth-watering recipe from the Michelin-starred Tom Kerridge. Additionally, Ritz's head chef John Williams and Bake Off Creme De La Creme winner Mark Tilling will be featuring to showcase some of his deliciously decadent chocolate creations.

James will also be serving up a dish with a little help from a British food hero and laying on a culinary Masterclass that will teach viewers how to cook a true Christmas classic.

ITV also confirmed that Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield will be hosting This Morning on Christmas day for the first time, too, joining Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid bringing us GMB, and Lorraine Kelly giving us her breakfast show with a festive tweak too.

James has had a busy year, launching his new online shop, selling food and drink as well as kitchenware and gardening kit. The TV presenter announced he’d been working on an online shop to support suppliers who’ve been struggling through the Covid-19 pandemic in the summer.

Taking months to prepare, the online shop has over 500 products on sale.

"[The team have] been so busy behind the scenes building a website shop that’ll enable you to get the produce – not only that we use here – chefs use all over the UK, delivered to your door," explained James.

“From fish to meat to oil to veg to gardening materials, garden tools, pans, pots, loads of equipment. It’s like a miniature chef’s larder," he added. What's more, the store will be stocking sauces from Michelin-star chefs and "amazing" cut flowers.
