James Norton Eyes Hollywood Career After War And Peace

With roles in Grantchester, Happy Valley and now War and Peace making him a household name in Britain, could hunky James Norton be the latest star to ditch us and swan off to Hollywood?

Sadly, it looks like it.

The 30-year-old actor, who plays brooding Prince Andrei in the new BBC adaptation of Tolstoy’s classic, has admitted he is already going “back and forth” between the UK and the US in a bid to make it over there.

“We are flirting with the idea. I have not started anything enormous yet. I already go back and forth,” he revealed.

“I would be a fool not to take up that opportunity. There is so much opportunity over there and so much great work.”

We’ll be quietly sobbing…

James is hoping to emulate the success of his War and Peace co-star Lily James, who starred in a little movie called Cinderella last year. You may have heard of it…

The actor says his on-screen love interest - who shot to fame as Lady Edith in Downton Abbey - is handling her fame well.

“I think there have been moments when it has become pretty intense and to her credit she is balancing that explosion with the job,” he told The Mirror.

“There have been moments when I have seen her go ‘this is crazy’ but she has taken it in her stride.”

War and Peace began to stellar ratings last weekend with 6.7 million tuning in. It also stars Hollywood actor Paul Dano.
