James Tavernier in defiant Rangers title message as Celtic told NOTHING has changed

James Tavernier has insisted nothing has changed and chasing Rangers will be looking to clinch the title with six straight Premiership wins.

The Light Blues had looked to be in the driving seat until their shock weekend defeat at Ross County left them four points behind Celtic, although they can cut that to just one point if they can win their game-in-hand, against Dundee, on Wednesday night. The captain knows that if Rangers can win their remaining six matches, including the final derby with Celtic, then it would be enough to see them crowned champions.

Tavernier defiantly stated: "We go into every game trying to win the game, nothing changes there. We are obviously going into these six games and win every single game, that's the Rangers mentality to win games. We go to win games in Europe so nothing changes there. We obviously have to earn the right to deliver the performance that we know that we can."

Tavernier accepted the performance and 3-2 loss at Dingwall was a body blow but is in no doubt there is the character and strength within the Ibrox dressing room to bounce back. He points to where they have come from since Philippe Clement took over.

Tavernier claimed: “I think we have shown it plenty of times, the mentality. But as I said you have to earn the right to win games and we didn't do that.

"That is the disappointing factor. When you do get the chances in front of goal you do have to be more clinical and put the ball in the back of the net.

"We created chances but we obviously didn't finish them off so six games to play and we go into every game like it is a final, from the start of the season to the end of the season so nothing changes there, while we have to put in a performance that the fans recognise and we recognise as a team."
