Jamie Oliver's devoted wife Jools has stood by him through thick and thin, but there was a time when their relationship hit a rocky patch, leaving the celebrity chef questioning their future together.

The 48-year-old has become a beloved figure in the UK, sharing his mouth-watering recipes with audiences and readers for over two decades.

He first rose to fame in his early twenties with his BBC series The Naked Chef and years after his television debut, he embarked on a mission to improve children's diets with the launch of his contentious Feed Me Better campaign.

Behind the scenes, his kids are his top priority, as Jamie and Jools share five kids, each with unique names: Poppy Honey Rosie, Daisy Boo Pamela, Petal Blossom Rainbow, Buddy Bear Maurice, and River Rocket Blue Dallas, reports the Mirror.

In 2019, the family of seven moved into a £6m 16th-century mansion in Essex, complete with a 70-acre estate featuring a swimming pool, tennis court, and its own vegetable garden.

The dedicated father has been candid about his family life, including his enduring marriage to Juliette Norton, better known as Jools, where he has openly discussed the highs and lows that once left them in a 'rut'.

The pair exchanged vows in 2000 after first crossing paths as teenagers aged 17 and 18.

Given their high-profile lifestyle, it's no surprise that they've had to grapple with issues of jealousy.

Despite Jools relocating to Tokyo for a three-month stint, Jamie was not deterred by the distance and wooed his future wife with romantic letters.

''When I was 17 I worked in Tokyo for three months and every single day Jamie sent me a letter or a fax without fail!'' Jools revealed on her Instagram account.

Upon her return, they became inseparable, renting a small flat in Hammersmith while Jamie honed his culinary skills at the renowned River Cafe.

However, after two decades of wedded bliss and five children, they've had their share of life lessons.

In 2021, Jamie confessed to the Australian Women's Weekly: ''I think you learn to love in lots of different ways.

''You learn to love the person you married but also, it's exciting because the rollercoaster of growing, becoming parents, getting older, having grey hairs and wrinkles, you can love all those bits. You don't just love one bit.

"I feel very lucky. I started dating Jools when I was 18. She's been a really solid and utterly important part of my life and my job's quite exciting.

"[My job] expects quite a lot, and she's my rock. She allows me to do my thing but then comes home and lets me be me... And I think she still quite likes me, which is really nice."

However, their journey hasn't always been smooth, with rumours of infidelity and jealousy cropping up more than once.

Jools, a stay-at-home mum, shouldered most of the parenting responsibilities while Jamie Oliver's intense work commitments meant he was often away, leading to tension in their marriage.

Despite his 2005 promise to retire from public life within three years, by 2011 Jamie was still predominantly a 'weekend dad', and he acknowledged that their relationship had hit a rough patch.

In a candid admission in 2011, Jamie revealed: "I'm not a worrier but she is a worrier. I don't need that and she doesn't need that, so we're in a bit of a rut."

Jools also spoke about their frequent arguments, saying: "We bicker all the time. A lot of my friends can't believe how much. He drives me mad because he never listens to me and I drive him mad because I can be horribly selfish."

Furthermore, Jools confessed to snooping on Jamie over fears of infidelity, as reported in The Telegraph: "I'll check his email. I'll check his Twitter. I'll check his phone. Everything seems fine. He says I'm a jealous girl, but I think I'm fairly laidback, considering".

She was alluding to Jamie's early career days when he experienced considerable female attention.

Jamie once shared with the Telegraph: "It wasn't just young girls, it was medium and young girls and it was classic slightly rock star-esque: random knickers and bras getting thrown at you,".

Jamie confirmed in 2018 that his wife suspected infidelity on his part. Speaking to Closer magazine, he explained: "My missus accused me of having an affair once, because I kept disappearing and coming back with green on my knees. It was courgette season and I was in the vegetable patch! ".

Additionally, Jools had previously spoken about the heart-wrenching experience of enduring five miscarriages.

Two occurred before she gave birth to her son River, four, in 2016 and three more followed after.

During Baby Loss Awareness Week in 2020, she paid homage to "our own 5 little stars we never got to hold in our arms xxx".

However, Jamie and Jools bravely faced these trials together and decided to renew their vows earlier this year.

The ceremony was markedly different from their first wedding event.

Before the big day, Jools shared with Red Magazine: "We're going to get married again, but do things differently outside and barefoot. Our wedding was formal, but we're so not like that. It'll be a big party. Why the hell not? I think we've done well!".

When the awaited time arrived in April, after spending 23 years as a couple, Jamie revealed to his fans that the celebration was held on a Maldivian beach.

Announcing the joyous news, Jamie shared: ''Yep, after 23 years together, we thought it would be a special moment to celebrate renewing our wedding vows before the kids all start leaving the nest."

''It was really special, funny and romantic with the words in the ceremony making more sense having come this far together. It seems like a blink since the first wedding which we kept very private apart from the paparazzi at the village church we thought it would be a happy and joyful moment to share with you all this Easter.

'We've always dreamed of going to the Maldives and it was just as you would have dreamed, simply amazing. ''.
