She said: "My name is Tammie Frank, and my husband was Jason David Frank, who tragically lost his life to suicide just last week."
"I loved my husband, and we were trying to work through our problems," she said.
"His death comes as much a shock to me as anyone else."
Tammie said the star was "not without his demons" and had struggled with mental health issues and depression before, but that she had no idea he was thinking of taking his life.
She said it happened when the pair were on a short break together and deciding to rekindle their relationship.
Frank starred as Tommy in the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers franchise in the 90s. He also appeared in other Power Rangers projects, including Dino Thunder.
Fans were devastated upon news of his death.
