Jason Manford was inundated with support after turning to the internet when he found himself in a parenting dilemma.

The dad-of-six, who has three daughters and a son with his first wife Catherine and a daughter and a son with his current wife Lucy, took to social media on Thursday seeking some reassurance after an incident with his kids resulted in him experiencing parental guilt.

“Urgh ever have one of those moments as a parent where you just get it wrong & overreact & then feel guilty about it for rest of the night,” he wrote on Instagram.

Adding: "Even tho the kid has moved on, had a laugh, gone to sleep fine & you're just lying here awake thinking 'could I have done that differently?'"

His friends and followers rushed to the comments section to offer their advice and support.

“Dozens of times...the fact that you're still thinking about it shows how caring you are,” wrote one person, followed by a red love-heart emoji.

“Yep! They forget it in the morning but you spend 124 hours making them love you again,” penned Emmerdale actor Danny Miller, adding two crying with laughter emojis.

While Queer Eye’s Tan France assured Manford he was not alone, replying: “This is a daily occurrence for me.”

“The worst feeling ever. Really sucks. You're a brilliant dad,” remarked another.

It’s not the first time that the Starstruck judge has got candid about being a parent.

He previously admitted that juggling his big brood takes a lot of teamwork.

"It's a lot, it has its difficult moments like any family but at the end of the day there's more love to go around,” he told the Mirror.

He added: “We get by and we've got a lot of help, my parents live nearby, my ex-wife, my wife, everybody pitches in and makes sure it works and it does for the most part.”
