Speaking to Alan Carr on Chatty Man, The Wanted singer said that having been on air for ten years, Strictly is struggling to make decent bookings.

“After ten years of Strictly they’re scraping the barrel for who they can get to do it,” the 25-year-old says.

He added that potential signings are declining the offer to appear on the hit BBC show, saying:

“People are going, ‘umm, I don’t think anyone fancies that. I’m all right thanks’.”

Jay and partner Aliona Vilani are currently a favourite to win the competition, as the couple were the first to be scored a 10.

He has stunned audiences, being this year’s surprise break-out contestant consistently wowing the judges with her near perfect moves on the dancefloor.

However, he’s been getting a lot of attention this week following bizarre comments he made on the Strictly after show It Takes Two after being shown a clip of a toddler dancing.

“That’s made my week. I just want to cut off his hair, and hands and feet, and squeeze him.

“Put him in a bag and just kick it. Cute,” he said.

If only his mouth was as good as his feet, eh?
