Spanish locals in Tenerife believe they may have spotted the missing teenager Jay Slater. Jay, a 19-year-old who vanished 12 days ago on the Spanish island, has possibly been sighted watching matches from the ongoing Euro 2024 football tournament, according to a nearby town mayor.

The young man from Lancashire, who is an apprentice bricklayer, was at a three-day music festival with his mates, Lucy and Brad. However, after the event he was seen leaving in a car with a couple of men he met on a night out.

Despite an intensive search featuring helicopters, drones and sniffer dogs, there are no clues as to Jay's whereabouts - other than last being spotted at a remote location near Masca village where he'd returned with the two men to their Airbnb accommodation.

His friend, Lucy Mae Law, said she last heard from him on the morning of his disappearance, Monday, June 17. He reportedly called her, expressing his disorientation, a need for water, and disclosed that his phone was down to its final 1% charge.

Jay's distressed mother, Debbie Duncan, arrived in Tenerife shortly after her son was reported missing. She shared with media sources that she was "beside herself with worry" and feared Jay had been abducted, reports the Mirror.
