JAY-Z ends V Festival set Chester Bennington tribute
As we find ourselves deep into festival season, surely one of the most poignant moments of all the music-filled weekends happened tonight (Saturday 20) at V Festival.
JAY-Z was headlining the night's main stage line-up at the Weston Park venue, and to see out his set he played Encore – the song on which he teamed up with Linkin Park back in 2004 – as a way of remembering the life of Chester Bennington, Linkin Park's late lead signer.
Bennington died by suicide last month, and JAY-Z's timely tribute was met with a rapturous reaction as the crowd sang along.

Among the many other tributes and kind words to have been said for Bennington are those of Metallica's Lars Ulrich, who on radio last month reflected on the Linkin Park frontman's death.
"Chester was a very kind and very unassuming and very gentle soul, who had a really big heart," Ulrich said.
"He was one of those singers that has that rare gift where every word that comes out of him sounds authentic."
